Get Off the Couch

Are you a lazy couch potato? You can get the health you need by doing this. Most Americans of all ages watched TV or videos for at least two hours daily and that was mostly unchanged throughout the study, ranging from about 60% of kids aged 5 to 11, up to 84% of seniors. Exercise is a great way to help getting off the couch. While some people like sitting around and watching TV, exercising is very helpful and healthy to the body as can be seen in playing team sports, swimming, and weight lifting.
Team sports are a way to help get smarter and are also a way to have fun. For instance, in a study, they found that “ Athletes often had higher GPAs ( That is smartness) then non-athletes." Not only team sports help the brain get smarter but also athletes who play team sports are healthier — and more satisfied with life. In the end, you’d be happy because playing with teams and friends is fun and it helps your body stay healthy.
Swimming helps your lungs and heart stay healthy. Research says that “Swimming can also improve your mental state and put you in a better mood.” Also, People with arthritis and injuries can go swimming to make it less-weight bearing. Swimming can “help you burn calories and tone up.” As you can see, swimming can lift your mood, help your lungs function and so on. Like swimming, Lifting weights is a way to keep your muscles strong.
Lifting light weights won't bulk up your muscles, but it will keep them strong. Strength training is another good way to exercise. For instance,“ It can help you stay trim, improve cholesterol levels, strengthen bones, lift your mood, and lower your risk for a number of diseases.” This means all of these help your body and mind health. Just by lifting weights, people get all of these benefits. (Plus, it's light weights, not heavy ones.)
So, isn't that a lot? Exercise will help a lot, and it will get you off the couch too as well as stay strong. Exercise has been a great way to help our body. You can do it in your free time and walking is not hard and it is a way to exercise, strength training is a way to burn off calories and help lose weight. That is why exercise can help in many ways and to get you off the couch too!
